The Challenge

Transformation Church has decided to rebrand and move websites after 10 years of service.

After meeting with the Lead Pastor and Assistant Pastor, they shared their concerns about long-standing members making the transition to a new webpage, including increasing overall usability, visibility, and the presentation of information. Although they felt the current website did not express the community they had built over time, so they were looking for a change. The Church’s ideal timeline was May to July, so the new website would be live around the opening of their summer program.

The Solution

I was able to ease the Pastors’ minds by addressing these concerns with suggestions of a new color palette, a new logo created by a member of their congregation, and a new information architecture. Furthermore, a giant pain point for their Pastoral Team was understanding their web provider. In meetings of the brand, restructuring, I spoke with the team about how WordPress operates, and the features they could optimize, such as the media gallery.

Original Website – May 2025

After seeing the original design, it quickly became apparent that the community was nowhere on their website, and it relied heavily on background pictures that were not from their current location. The way I addressed this was receiving photos from past events, then attending a service, meeting the community and taking photos. With this large collection of photos, I was able to cultivate a story of community.

New Design – July 2025

I walked the Pastoral Team through the new information architecture, then I shared a Figma prototype. Once that design was approved, I redesigned their WordPress website with all their suggestions. Below, I included the original and new architecture, the Figma prototype, pictures of the website, mockups, and a video of the final design.
